✗ RIARC filed a class action lawsuit against the Ladd School in Federal District Court. They worked with an investigative reporter, Peter Perl, from the Providence Journal to launch an investigation into the deplorable living conditions and treatment of folks residing at the Ladd center.

✗ The “Parent Subsidy Act” provided direct cash assistance for parents to assist them in “taking their child home from an institution.”
