Circle of Hope Vigil

Avatar’s Women’s Group flourished as an opportunity for friendship and peer support. Several folks we support participated in the Remarkable Relationships Conference, the Wellness Conference, and the Self-Advocacy Conference. Budget cuts to services from Project Sustainability led to a creative revision within Avatar. There were campaigns to call the Governor, to write legislators, and to attend budget hearings. In October, 3500 people surrounded the Statehouse in the Circle of Hope Vigil. The Statewide Family Advocacy Network was formed and had a weekly presence at the Statehouse.
